An evening of Dance presented by Human Nature Contemporary Ballet.
The GRID is a new Contemporary Ballet that explores the early days of the HIV/AIDS crisis. The show is inspired by the rise of reported HIV/AIDS cases in El Paso County in recent years. In the early ’80s, stigma, homophobia, and lack of awareness led early cases of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) to be called “Gay Related Immune Deficiency," or GRID. AIDS is a human disease that we now know affects us all regardless of sexual identity, orientation, gender, age, race, or social status. The GRID is a show that hopes to start a conversation and help end the stigma about HIV/AIDS.
